United Nations International Migrants Day - Wednesday 18th December 2019
International Migrants Day is commemorated on December 18 as declared by the General Assembly of United Nations on 4 December 2000 considering the large and multiplying number of migrants all over the world.
It also marks the day in 1990, when the UN Assembly adopted the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of their Families.
To celebrate International Migrants Day, Migrant Connections Taranaki is having a free luncheon at the Te Pīere o te Rangi room at the Western Institute of Technology (WITT) on Wednesday 18th December 2019, to mark this important day.
Come and hear the experiences of migrants who have made Taranaki their home.
